Vikki George est responsable du jardin communautaire de Saint-Petersbourg. Son père, décédé depuis trois ans, avait créé ce jardin vingt ans auparavant. Ce jardin a une valeur sentimentale très forte pour Vikki, ainsi que pour les locataires du jardin. Chace Devine, un promoteur immobilier, achète le jardin à monsieur Mack, le propriétaire de Vikki, dans le but de construire un immeuble dessus.
